Golden Globes Hair and Makeup Winners

Last night I tuned into the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards. Did you watch? I have to say that as a whole, everyone looked really beautiful and awards show appropriate. I love how many celebrities chose to wear their hair more casual and loose. I also saw a lot of sleek looks and sultry bangs that will no doubt start a trend in 2011. Those that opted for an updo kept it classic, soft, and uncontrived. Smoky eyes are a red carpet mainstay, but I also enjoyed the occasional bright lip that added Hollywood glamour. Pretty and polished was the makeup mantra and I was happy to see it. Of course you know I played favorites, here are some of my winning makeup and hair looks, and the products that helped them get into the winner’s circle.

{Anne Hathaway}

Anne, or Annie as Rachel Zoe calls her, looked naturally beautiful. I loved her relaxed waves. Her hair stylist used Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Styling Whip to achieve the soft, informal look.

{Emma Stone}

I love Emma Stone whether she’s a redhead or blonde. Her makeup artist complemented her peach colored gown with golden and glowing makeup. For a similar nude pout, try M.A.C. lipstick in Hug Me.

{January Jones}

January Jones is known for two things on the red carpet. 1. Bold fashion choices that cause a stir. 2. Makeup that is inspired and often retro. This look was created by makeup artist Rachel Goodwin who was going for a “90’s supermodel meets Old Hollywood glamour look.” For January’s glossy red lip, Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in Exces was used to create the perfect retro pout.

{Jennifer Lopez}

Jennifer Lopez always has impeccable makeup when she works with her trusted makeup artist Scott Barnes. Her look for the Golden Globes was decidedly elegant, with black liquid eyeliner and a sheer wash of silver eye shadow bringing all the attention to her topaz eyes. For a similar  silvery look try M.A.C. eye shadows in Filament and Electra.

{Michelle Williams}

Michelle Williams has become a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood {I’m dying to see Blue Valentine}, and that also goes for her hair and makeup. I adore her fresh Mia Farrow esque pixie cut, and her peachy, natural makeup. For a sheer pretty peach lip, try NARS lipstick in Barbarella.

{Natalie Portman}

Natalie Portman is always stunning and pregnancy only makes her all the more radiant. I love that she chose a soft and classic French twist to showcase her diamond necklace. Her makeup was simple with a pop of color from her fuschia lipstick. If you’d like to try Natalie’s lipstick reach for M.A.C. Cremesheen lipstick in Speak Louder.

{Olivia Wilde}

Ding ding we have a winner. Olivia Wilde was my Golden Globes favorite from top to bottom. I swooned over her Marchesa dress, her blow out done to perfection, and her mink brown smoky eyes and pale glossy lip. Makeup artist Spencer Barnes used NARS products to achieve her stunning look, such as the new for Spring 2011 NARS Duo Eye Shadow in Nouveau Monde.

Who was your Golden Globes hair and makeup winner? What did you think of host Ricky Gervais?

  1. How can all these women look so flawless! I absolutely like Emma’s perfect natural look…You’re right, redhead or blond she’s always gorgeous, but now she has this “je ne sais quoi” or maybe it’s just the great makeup artist behind her ;) Olivia Wilde also has a very natural look which I love…yes, how I wish I could master this look…I’ll have to go for a couple of these products you recommend for sure!

    Anne Hathaway is always a favorite. I didn’t recognize Emma Stone either. Stunning change that she’s pulling off. Only if I could be that radical…
    Love Jennifer Lopez, I feel like her look doesn’t change much though. She widened her bottom lip right?
