Beach, Please

My friend was kind enough to invite me to her shore house this weekend and I couldn’t be more excited. I can’t wait to spend almost all my time outdoors! I will definitely be using some tips from my How To: Be a Good Houseguest post. Last summer, I shared with you what all I was packing with me to take to the beach, as seen here, and I thought I would show you my revised list. It is still full of tried and true favorites, but some new obsessions as well:

Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunblock Spray- In case you missed my glowing review and endorsement of this innovative product, as seen here, I love this sunscreen spray! It cuts through water easily and leaves you protected, without running or turning sunscreens tell tale white. Dermatologists report that religious application of sunscreen is the number one way to prevent skin aging. But if you don’t like putting it on you’re never going to wear it regularly. This product is foolproof and painless to apply.

Yes to Cucumbers Natural Glow Facial Towelettes- I am obsessed with this all natural and affordable line. These wipes are fantastic at removing makeup after a night out when you’re too pooped to saddle up to the sink, or for removing sand in between sunscreen reapplications. I’m packing them for both reasons; especially with this cocktail on the menu.

Babyganics Alcohol Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer- I am a freak about washing my hands, especially before I eat. Sitting on the beach is going to make this a challenge so this alcohol free, foaming hand sanitizer is going in my beach bag. This gentle non drying product is fantastic and its people, pet, and Earth friendly-you can’t beat that!

Colorscience Pro Sunforgettable Mineral Powder Brush SPF 50- I am not a fan of mineral makeup. I am a fan, however, of facial sunscreen that is easy to reapply. Enter, Colosciences Mineral Powder. The brush is self dispensing and the broad spectrum coverage feels light. The powder absorbs oil and perspiration and leaves me protected all day long. A must try.

M.A.C. Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved- You didn’t think I was going to go entirely sans makeup to the beach did you? Sunscreen, tinted moisturizer, powdered sunscreen, waterproof eye pencil and mascara, and SPF lip balm makes up my beach makeup routine. M.A.C. Powerpoint pencils are the only ones I have found that truly last, wave after wave.

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pins- I bought these when they first came out and I have yet to try them. My subpar hair skills notwithstanding, I hope to create some easy updos while I am away. The directions are simple, just create your style and spin the pins into place. Right…stay tuned!

Skincare samples-When I go on vacation I always pack skincare samples that I collect hoard with me. Not only do they travel ridiculously well, but they allow me to try new products and find new favorites. This trip I’m including samples from Kinerase, Dermalogica, and Eminence. You can get your very own samples from

Whatever your plans are, I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend, remember your sunscreen motto: slather, repeat! Happy 4th of July everyone!

I really like summer beauty products like this. I’ve wanted to try that mineral powder sunscreen for a while. It looks like it would work great after a long day at the beach when your skin is shiny.
