BreBeauty Quick Tip: Hands Off!

I don’t know about where you live but the cold and flu bug is still lurking and running rampant. The calendar may say Spring, but cold and flu viruses are wearing out their welcome. Everyone around me is getting sick and I feel like dead woman walking, dutifully taking my vitamins and eating oranges like it’s my job, hoping that I will be spared. One quick fix to stop the spread of germs is to stop touching your face! 600. That’s how many times a day we touch our face. Once every two minutes. Not touching your face is one of the best ways to avoid a cold. In addition to the more traditional methods of frequent hand washing, and covering your mouth when you sneeze or cough. As an added bonus, if you stop touching your face you also lessen your chance of skin breakouts. Our fingers secrete natural sebum, mixed with dirt and bacteria on our skin and you have a recipe for breakouts. Try it today, you may be surprised at how often you touch your face, soon you’ll adopt a strict hands off policy. The person sneezing next to you or your next annoying breakout on your chin can help serve as a helpful reminder!

Have a great weekend! Any good April Fools pranks in the plans?

I also thought getting sick had more to do with the fact that I work in an office that is full of recycled air. There’s always someone coughing. But touching my face? I never realized how many times a day I touch my face. It makes sense on why it would make us sick and give us congested skin.

I try to be diligent about my daily water intake and getting my much needed eight hours of sleep a night. Now, I just need to remind myself to stop touching my face. Great article. Very enlightening!!

Oh my goodness, I touch my face all of the time. This would be incredibly difficult to adhere to – but probably worth the challenge!

I do touch my face a lot… I’m trying to stop. It’s so hard!! I didn’t know the number was as high as 600. Gross.
