It’s getting to be that time of year…A time when I put on my apron and turn up the Christmas jams. I am gearing up for my annual holiday baking and as I stockpile butter (seriously) and peruse recipes of tried and true classics I find myself gravitating toward trying new recipes. Two of my favorite food blogs, Brown Eyed Baker and Smitten Kitchen are providing me with endless and delicious inspiration. I love when traditional favorites are updated and made that much better, S’ mores stuffed chocolate chip cookie anyone? Here are some new cookie recipes I will be trying out this holiday season:
{Lofthouse Style Frosted Sugar Cookies}
{Crisp Salted White Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies}
{Espresso Chocolate Chip Shortbread}
{Salted Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies}
{S’ mores Stuffed Chocolate Chip}
Do you bake for the holidays? Will you be baking old favorites or trying something new?
As you can see there is a definite pattern here with my cookie recipes. I love chocolate and sweets with a salty finish. If you haven’t yet tried chocolate and salt, this chocolate bar is a nice introduction gateway drug.

Omg. These pictures are both amazing and delightful, yet haunting and evil all at once. What can I say, I’m a diabetic with a serious sweet tooth. All joking aside, these are incredibly inspirational! I have to figure out how to make those salted oatmeal cookies…with a reduction in the sugar content. Totally doable, right?
Salted double-chocolate goodness here I come!!
I made the ginger cookies at Thanksgiving..they are amazing!! I have already made 6 different types of cookies for Christmas…a few more to go!!
My only cookie goal this year is to perfect chewy sugar cookies! I hate when they get crunchy. Blech. I will make however many batches it takes!
Monster cookies are my favorite! but those s’mores ones look gooood!
The melting snowman cookies are too cute. Merry Christmas!
Hi Bre-
Hope you have a wonderful holiday! Once again the whole month of Dec went by and I didn’t bake! This happens every year.
