Ghostly Past

With my favorite holiday now over {sigh} I thought I’d reminisce and reflect on Halloweens past…

My girlfriend Heather, wanted to be Rainbrow Bright that year, so I used some of my more colorful M.A.C. eyeshadows to create her look.

My friend Erica {pictured here} threw a fabulous Halloween bash at her place, complete with delicious Witches Brew cocktails. With my new bob, I decided to go as Margot Tenenbaum, sans angry chain smoking.

The lengths I go to for my trick or treaters. Well, honestly I relish any excuse to dress in costume and do my makeup to such an extreme. I achieved this look using a variety of green pigments and eyeshadows from M.A.C. Sadly, we did not get any trick or treaters at our apartment-ever.

I don’t know about you, but I get inspired from movies and TV. During the presidential election I discovered a stunning, if ignorant, beauty by the name of Gayle Quinnell AKA The Crazy McCain Rally Lady. I got to tease my hair into disarray, and wander around aimlessly with stupefied expressions. Granted, all of two people knew who I was {some guessed Sarah Palin}, but it was a fun time nevertheless.

My friend Josh was the Joker and I was happy to help quickly get him into character. I don’t know who was scarier, me as Gayle, or him.

Another fun, random little fact about me is that I do voices and impersonations. This is my boyfriend and I as Mad TV’s Stewart Larkin and Stewart’s mother Doreen.  A hilarious costume that I really enjoyed doing, even if I had to talk like Stewart’s mom all night on command. {Note- I did not receive a blow to the back of the head in this picture, this is the wild eyed crazy look of Doreen}.

I am a huge fan of Rachel Zoe and her signature style, so naturally I wanted to emulate her for last year’s Halloween. My friend Tara, is a Robert Palmer model from Addicted to Love. She is NOT a Guitar Hero people. I did her makeup in very contoured, 80′s style, with fuchsia lips and purpley gray eyes and people still did not know who she was. They also thought I was Paris Hilton.

As for this year…here is a tease…

I was totally going to go as a Disney villain this year (thank’s to MAC)! I couldn’t decide which one, though, so I never got around to pulling it together, but Mother Nature worked out pretty well for me in the long run. :) Can’t wait to see your pics!
