Anyone that knows me knows that I am obsessed with hats. I have several in my closet (and displayed on bed posts, lamps, mirrors, apothecary jars, doorknobs, anything that can support a hat, really.) and I am always collecting more. I don’t play favorites either. Fedora, floppy straw, floppy felt, cloche, trilby, bowler, bucket, driver’s cap, army, I adore them all. The only hat I haven’t yet tried is a cowboy hat, and I picked the one I want years ago. I think it would be the perfect topper to wear on the beach, a summer barbeque, or the fair in the Fall.
When I wear hats people sometimes give me compliments (aww shucks) and it is almost always accompanied by the same sentiment, “I wish I could wear hats.” Umm…you can. Throw one on and you’re out the door-it couldn’t be simpler. If it was anymore involved I probably couldn’t do it. I personally don’t understand why people would ever be hesitant to wear a hat. They look great and you instantly look more chic and pulled together, even if your hair under the hat is dirty and/or looks like crap. I look at them as I look at any other accessory, a complement to your outfit. An accessory that I thoroughly enjoy collecting hoarding.
Do you wear hats? Why or why not? Any favorites from the celebrities here?
“I enjoy hats. And when one has filthy hair, that is a good accessory.” – Julia Roberts

Leighton makes me want to wear hats – all the time. Look at that cute straw one! I’m off to find a similar one – I’ll let you know if I’m successful!
The kind of hat I will wear is a toque (or ‘beanie’ to americans) Its my go to hat for the winter. The summer, not so much. I should look into a hat for the summer because I always manage to burn my scalp in my part no matter how much sunscreen I put on.
I agree with Jessica, I always think of Leighton/Blair when I wear hats.
And people ALWAYS comment on a hat. Like its some kind of novelty.
