Anyone that knows me knows that I am obsessed with hats. I have several in my closet (and displayed on bed posts, lamps, mirrors, apothecary jars, doorknobs, anything that can support a hat, really.) and I am always collecting more. I don’t play favorites either. Fedora, floppy straw, floppy felt, cloche, trilby, bowler, bucket, driver’s cap, army, I adore them all. The only hat I haven’t yet tried is a cowboy hat, and I picked the one I want years ago. I think it would be the perfect topper to wear on the beach, a summer barbeque, or the fair in the Fall.
When I wear hats people sometimes give me compliments (aww shucks) and it is almost always accompanied by the same sentiment, “I wish I could wear hats.” Umm…you can. Throw one on and you’re out the door-it couldn’t be simpler. If it was anymore involved I probably couldn’t do it. I personally don’t understand why people would ever be hesitant to wear a hat. They look great and you instantly look more chic and pulled together, even if your hair under the hat is dirty and/or looks like crap. I look at them as I look at any other accessory, a complement to your outfit. An accessory that I thoroughly enjoy collecting
Do you wear hats? Why or why not? Any favorites from the celebrities here?
