Lacquered Up {The Fall Edition}

Essie Sew Psyched

When it comes to nail polish, I’m kind of obsessed. I rarely am without polish, and think of it as another little accessory. As such, I have a vast array of colors and I’m always buying more. My collection has taken over a drawer {wasting precious space} so upon seeing Rachel Zoe’s Lucite nail polish display rack, I’m working on acquiring my own. It has really become that necessary. I am fully capable of doing my own nails, but I prefer to leave it to the professionals {more relaxing} and just bring my own polish to the salon. With falls darker colors, it is best to keep your nails on the shorter side, with a natural rounded shape that mirrors the shape of your cuticles. Save the dark, long talons for Halloween, short and manicured will always be classic. The great thing about fall nail colors is that they work on a wide variety of skin tones; there is truly something for everyone. Here are some of my picks for fall:

Essie Sew Psyched- This smoky green sage pewter color is undeniably cool and my favorite pick for fall {see image above}. Its military inspired hue is on point and it’s a great cost effective dupe for Chanel Khaki Vert.

OPI Ski Teal We Drop- I’m currently rocking this color and I love it. This deep teal cream reminds me of the beautiful blue in a peacock feather. When I saw it in the October issue of Lucky magazine I knew it was a sure thing. I also love it because it reminds me of M.A.C. eye shadow in Plumage.

Spa Ritual Endless Possibilities- No fall color collection would be complete without a deep, dark, almost black, purple. This midnight plum cream is not only beautiful, but it’s also vegan, free of DBP, formaldehyde and toluene. If you’ve never tried Spa Ritual I urge you to do so, you will love them.

Essie Little Brown Dress- This rich brown is reminiscent of black coffee. It also reminds me of chocolate {always a good thing}. It’s so deep and dark it will go with everything in your fall wardrobe.

OPI Unripened- If you’re craving a little more edge, this color more than delivers. Its part of OPI’s Halloween mini collection and this blue black base is lousy with blue and green shimmer. The entire OPI Go Goth Halloween collection is worth investigating, I’m also partial to the Sanguine.

  2. I’m wearing a really similar shade…Dark Room OPI for Sephora. Love the change from the summer-y colors I had been wearing for the last few months. Great picks, Bre!

  3. I’ve been wearing Ski Teal We Drop for 5 weeks now! I love it, looks more navy in some lights, and more peacock in others. I’m dying to get the new Chanel colors, I recently posted on them. The Khaki Brun is to die!
