Lacquered Up {The Winter Edition}

One of my favorite things about the month of December is all the fun little plans filling up my calendar. I’m excited to decorate our tree, attend holiday parties, and take a day trip to New York City with friends. I love any excuse to get dressed up and my nails are no exception. I’ve already mentioned my nail polish obsession {compulsion} here. Winter party season is in full swing and I love all the fun and festive colors currently available to liven up your look. There are a lot of glitzy and over-the-top colors and formulas to choose from, I feel like a kid in a candy store. Here are a few of my recent purchases:

Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe- As a Beatles fan I was especially drawn to this polish, that and I’m like a magpie and I adore anything shiny {see image above}. This dark iridescent blue green polish is lousy with hexagonal glitter and kind of reminds me of a mermaid. Not a traditional holiday color and that makes it all the more fun.

Butter The Old Bill- Molten metal’s are on trend for the holiday season. Silver and gold is not just an old Christmas song. If you are not familiar with Butter London lacquers they contain no formaldehyde, no DBP, and no toluene. Burnished metallics like this copper one will add some festive flair to your look.

Essie Smokin’ Hot- This new shade may just be my favorite, as I am a sucker for rich, dark polishes. Smokin’ Hot is one of those tough to describe shades, is it a brown gray, or a mauve brown? Either way it’s incredibly cool and a happy addition to my collection.

Spa Ritual Light- Frosty white shades are perfect for a winter snow day. Frosty shades are especially good for disguising polish chips and nail ridges. This vegan polish is luminescent and cool. It accentuates your sunless tan and looks great paired with silver rings.

OPI Glow Up Already!- This sheer glitter polish from the Burlesque collection definitely fits the holiday bill. The light green and gold glitter is celebratory and incredibly eye catching. You may need 2 or 3 coats for maximum color payoff, or layer it over a favorite shade for your own customized formula. Words of caution, if you have a job where you type a lot you may find yourself decidedly distracted.

What are your new favorite holiday polishes?

P.S. I asked Santa for a nail polish wall display rack. Fingers crossed.
