Try It Buy It: Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunblock Spray

One of the things I love most about sunscreen shopping is seeing all the new products that come out every summer. The skin care world is ever evolving and improving and that means innovative technology that keeps your skin healthy and you happy. One such notable example is the new Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunblock Spray. I had seen that this was coming out in my magazines and online and upon reading its ingredient label and giving it my intense and patented scrutiny, into the cart it went. In terms of originality-this sunscreen definitely has it. It’s specially developed formula cuts through water and allows maximum adhesion to the skin without dripping off or turning white (like traditional sunscreens are known to do). Once applied, it forms a protective barrier that visibly repels water and doesn’t drip off.

I road tested it in different settings-both of them the aquatic variety. I sprayed it on immediately upon exiting the shower while my skin was still wet. My loyal readers know that moisturizing is best done on damp skin as the moisturizer helps trap in the hydration and moisture of the shower before it evaporates. So instead of my usual SPF 30 body lotion, I reached for this. The spray was easy to use; it worked upside down, and had a clean, fresh scent-the scent Neutrogena sunscreens are known for. It was cool to see it cut through the water on my skin and adhere beautifully. I sprayed liberally-until I saw a clear, visible liquid, and then like with all spray sunscreens, I rubbed it in for even, optimum protection. It was so quick! If you think you’re too busy for sunscreen this product leaves you with zero excuses. I went about my day feeling moisturized (thanks to the Vitamin E) and protected. It stood up well in the Pennsylvania high humidity and didn’t budge. I tried it over the holiday weekend while alternating with magazines and dips in the pool. It lasted but I still reapplied as it is recommended to do so and you can never be too cautious when it comes to protecting your skin. Always reapply sunscreen after swimming, towel drying, or excessive perspiration and every 90 minutes.

I highly recommend this sunscreen. It has become my new favorite and I’m telling everyone about it-look I’m telling you right now! It’s great for those of us who are active when we go to the beach and spend the majority of our time in the ocean looking for sharks swimming and riding the waves. It’s perfect for athletes and kids alike as both are much too busy to towel off before reapplying sunscreen. This product allows them to quickly reapply and get back in the game. If you live in a high humidity part of the world this is a wonderful sunscreen that lasts. The broad spectrum, Helioplex formula is hypoallergenic and oil free so you can use it on your face. Just be sure not to spray your face directly-apply the spray to your hands and apply a generous amount to your face to ensure even coverage. With all sunscreen sprays, use them in a well ventilated area.

Have you tried Neutrogena’s Wet Skin Sunblock line yet? Will you?

Have a fabulous, sunscreen filled weekend everyone!

I rely on sunblock for survival, yet I hate it with a fiery passion because it makes me start out my day feeling oily and gross. I’ll have to try this one out!
