M.A.C. makeup artist Diane Kendal envisioned a warm yet minimalistic look when creating a makeup look for Proenza Schouler’s Fall collection.
“Girls on a road trip through the Southwest…the look being reflective of the American Indian inspired fabrics in the collection.”
Kendal applied M.A.C. Mineralize All-Over Lotion to leave the skin hydrated, smooth and primed for makeup. The skin was then evened out with M.A.C. Studio Sculpt Foundation to achieve the dewy and radiant glow. A sun-kissed, yet sculpted effect was achieved with M.A.C. Cream Colour Bases in peach and taupe shades that will be available Fall/Winter 2011.
The lips were also toned down with a dab of Studio Finish Concealer and Lip Conditioner to mute the natural lip color. Dusty, desert inspired neutrals in shades of stone, clay, and putty were used to subtly define the features.
Kendal made an unorthodox choice when she rimmed and smudged the eyes with M.A.C. lip pencil in Stone for a cool, putty colored effect.
Mascara was skipped altogether but the brows were brushed up and filled in with M.A.C. shadows in Omega, Coquette, and Concrete applied to coordinating brow shades for a fuller, more masculine brow. The finished result was a bold, ‘no makeup’ makeup look that I’m sure we will be seeing more of this year.
What do you think of this American desert inspired look? Will you be sporting something similar come Fall?

Hey Bre! I find it amazing how make up artists can come up with these make up looks. Like how can you create something so subtle yet so beautiful. I guess you need the technique and of course some good products to achieve this kind of looks. Just love it!
