Poke Your Face

Growing up with my thick Chewbaca head of hair, combing and brushing it, I quickly learned a very important lesson at an early age, pain is beauty. As women we endure a lot of pain in an effort to maintain our appearance-from waxing to injectables. So when I first saw this new anti-aging system, I was reminded of the lengths we go to in the name of beauty.

Dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields, the creators behind Proactiv, have invented a micro needle therapy system. The real star of the show is the blue roller tool. The roller has two hundred fine, little acupuncture needles that cause tiny injuries in your skin. These injuries are not bad for you; in fact, they help stimulate your body’s own natural ability to produce collagen and elastin to compensate for the injury. Used on your clean, dry skin, this roller also allows a much clearer pathway in permitting anti-aging products to penetrate beneath the skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production. This maximum delivery system is patent pending and garnering a lot of media attention for its innovative thinking. I am certainly intrigued by this new product, I think it’s geared toward efficacy and results. I researched a bit online and found some amazing before and afters, you can view them here. Having never received acupuncture before, I’m curious to test this out and see how painful it is, I imagine it’s a slight irritation with the needles being so fine. This new anti-aging system has me excited to see what’s next in skin care innovation in 2011 and beyond. For more information on the Rodan + Fields AMP MD System, you can watch this video.

Would you try the Amp MD Maximum Delivery System? Have you already? What’s the most painful thing you do to maintain your appearance?

That’s crazy! I’ve never done acupuncture but I’ve done the one where they suck the blood out. It hurt :(. I don’t know if I’d want to do this all over my face!!
