This summer (and everyday for the rest of your life) protect your pout with SPF enriched natural lip balms. Our lips do not have sebaceous (read: oil) glands like the rest of our skin, so they need extra TLC, and lots of SPF. The lower lip receives more ultraviolet light than any other part of the face (avoid glosses when you are at the beach or poolside; the glossy gleam attracts the sun. Think baby oil burning in the sun back in the days laying out deliberately flipping over like you’re on a rotisserie drinking Tab. Yeah those good old {ignorant} days). The SPF will protect your lips from dryness, lines, and skin cancer. You already know how to keep your lips smooth see here, now you need to keep them protected. Read your lip balm labels avoid: mineral oil, petroleum, petrolatum, paraffin, lanolin, camphor, and menthol. Look instead for natural and hydrating (edible) ingredients that actually moisturize and protect your lips. Protect your pout!
Don’t forget to reapply. We eat, we drink, we speak, we lick, the lip balm comes off.

[...] Pucker up. You may not think you have full lips but they get more sun exposure than any other area of your face. They can easily burn if left unprotected or covered in a UV reflective gloss. Protect your pout with a lip balm with SPF 30 or higher and reapply after eating, drinking, and a dip in the water. For more on caring for your lips in the summer read this. [...]
