I was delighted to receive a Stylish Blogger Award from the lovely Marta from Cocogrove back in January. In order to accept this award I have to share seven random facts about myself. After this post, I didn’t know what else to include. But, I want my award so here goes!
When I was a little girl I wanted to be Indiana Jones. I loved everything Egypt. I couldn’t get enough of it; I used to hoard issue upon issue of National Geographic. I was more obsessed with King Tut’s tomb than Geraldo Rivera was with Al Capone’s vault. It has always been my dream to go to Egypt, touch the pyramids, and just stand in awe of man and thousands of years of history.
I love babies. Not to brag, but they love me too. My friends call me the Baby Whisperer. If there is a baby crying anywhere, it’s like my Bat signal. If I’m out and about I’m always oohing and ahhing over babies! I cannot wait until I am a mom one day. For now I will settle for being an Aunt to all of my friends’ little peanuts.
I have no sense of direction. Zip. Zero. Zilch. I’ve gotten lost in parking lots more times than I care to admit (I have friends who will attest to this embarrassing fact). Before GPS, I was the driver with the Mapquest directions taped to the dashboard. The one you blasted your horn at and flipped the bird. Yeah, that was me. And I forgive you (sort of).
Confession: the Disney Parks commercials turn me into a teary eyed emotional sap. I love seeing the children’s faces and exultation at the prospect of endless rides and meeting their beloved Disney characters. It also makes me emotional {read: bitter} because I never got to go as a kid. It has now become a running joke for my family to point “me” out in the commercials, proving that I did in fact go. Ha. Ha. Ha. One day my Disney vacation will come.
I love Ina Garten of Barefoot Contessa fame. I adore her. I watch her show religiously every day, I love all her Ina-isms and appreciate the fact that I now know what constitutes as “good vanilla” and “good mayonnaise.” I’m working on collecting all of her cookbooks and trying all of her recipes. Forget Julie/Julia. It’s Bre/Ina all the way. I hope to one day have half the gorgeous, fully stocked and perfectly appointed kitchen that she has. How bad can that be?
I know lots of people have bucket lists and mine is pretty standard. I want to travel the world and see everything there is to see. Should be pretty easy right? As far as thrill seeking adventures go, I don’t wish to jump out of an airplane, or go bungee jumping. I just want to be lowered into a shark tank in Gansbaai South Africa. Oh.Hell.Yes. I’ve always been fascinated by sharks, I consider Jaws a favorite movie, purchased this fabulous ring, would totally sleep in this if I could fit, and watch Discovery Channel’s Shark Week with rapt attention every year. I think it’s only fitting that I go on a shark dive-a Great White shark dive. I’m now accepting donations.
I have an irrepressible sweet tooth. It simply cannot be contained. Forget Sugar Busters!, God help you if I don’t have chocolate in some variation every day. With Spring approaching I am excited for all of my favorite Easter candy lining the grocery shelves. Holiday candy is my hands down favorite. Now you may find my distinction of candy to be ridiculous, but Holiday candy just tastes better. Aside from my favorite holiday, Easter has the best candy, especially this and these. Growing up I never knew that my chocolate bunny had eyes, because of my mother’s propensity for eating them before giving them to us. Clearly, I got my sugar addiction honestly.
Now as per the terms of my award, I have to give this award to 15 great blogs. I read a lot of blogs, and would love to mention everyone; here are 15 sites that are definitely worth checking out.

Haha..thanks for sharing these things with all of us! I could literally picture you ooching babies everywhere… I’ve actually always admired people who are good with kids, honestly, I don’t know how you guys do it. It looks like you have a very sweet side and a very adventurous one… I guess this is an awesome mix! Have a wonderful weekend Bre!

First of all, congratulations on your award, Bre! Considering your blog has become something of a bible to me, I know firsthand how totally deserved this award is.
And thank you for sharing the love! I am as giddy as a little school girl right now.
Lastly, I must tell you how much I love Indiana Jones (Temple of Doom is my favorite) and how poor my sense of direction is. I’ve been lost in my home town of Stoneham, MA so many times its absurd. My friends and family make fun of me all the time. Wah wahhhhhhhhh.
Happy weekend!!
xoxo

Also, I totally cry at Disney commercials too, and have never been there.
Have a great weekend!

Bre,
Thank you so much for this award! I am far too awkward to list 7 seven random facts about myself, but I absolutely love yours! Your pictures of the Peeps made me hungry … and I hope you go shark diving and blog about it! I’d love to hear what it’s like
Love your site!
