What are you waiting for? Three minutes. That’s all you get. That’s the amount of time you have to moisturize upon showering to lock in all that hydration before it is lost to you. Don’t believe me? Ever had one of those days where you felt like your bra was on backwards and you were in a hurry and you skipped your getting-ready-for-the-day post shower moisturizing in your mad dash to get out the door? Then maybe later that day you tried to redeem yourself by applying moisturizer to your now dry, thirsty skin and found that it didn’t penetrate or go on like it normally does? My point exactly. My dear readers, please, I beseech you, make moisturizing a regular habit and priority. Like brushing your now pearly white teeth, or your spinning class, or watching Glee. It’s all about priorities. In the interest of saving time, I suggest you put your face and body moisturizers out on the counter before you shower. As soon as you exit the shower, pat yourself dry (never rub) and apply your face moisturizer first, and your body cream second. If you suffer from seemingly chronic dry skin this will improve your situation drastically; regular moisturization within three minutes of bathing and routine exfoliation (3x a week) will leave your skin baby smooth and hydrated. I included links for my favorite (and mineral oil free) face and body moisturizers, what are yours?
This made me think of one of my favorite Gwen Stefani songs. The makeup in the Alice in Wonderland inspired video is fantastic.

Moisturizing is a must!
