Baby It’s Cold Outside

The weather outside is frightful, and dressing for it isn’t really pretty either. It’s been increasingly difficult to stay warm while looking chic in these frigid temperatures. Here in the northeast, I’ve been relying heavily on my down filled puffer coat. I look like a cross between the Michelin Man and this kid. Except I’m not crying about it, only whining, to you. Keeping your fashionable wits about you in the middle of winter is possible. You only need to look to great street style websites for proof. Here are some of my favorite winter fashion pictures. I hope they inspire you to stay warm and fabulous, wherever you are.

The leggy blonde with the impeccable outfit(s) and red orange lips as seen above? That’s Joanna Hillman, senior market fashion editor for Harper’s Bazaar. She’s long been a girl crush of mine, and she’s been even more impressive this winter with her drop dead gorgeous outfits. You can see what she’s worn for the past month in her wardrobe diary here. If her lipstick has you obsessed {only me?} you can try M.A.C.’s Cherry lip pencil as a base, with M.A.C. Morange lipstick layered over top for a vivid tomato red orange shade.

Which winter look is your favorite?

Great post hunny! I love all of those pictures. I am trying so hard to not look like a complete hippy hobo this year… the coat + accessories you wear really makes a different. I love when I see someone in a dressy scarf… I need one. A warm one at that. =)

  2. I must be very lucky I can put my hands down! But, I have to say these images are really inspiring and they definitely state that everyone can look super gorgeous in the cold weather. Hands down for the woman in the black coat and the girl in the faux fur jacket. And yes, Johanna Hillman has some great style too…how happy does she look in the snow?

@Marta yes consider yourself very lucky! Being chic while batting single digit temps is not easy, I feel like a human marshmallow! I have a serious girl crush on Joanna Hillman, she’s fabulous, you’ll see more of her on here absolutely.
