You Better Work

With Spring officially here a lot of you may be thinking the same thing, holy crap summer will be here soon. As excited as this thought makes me it also makes me feel the usual mix of anticipation and fear. Shorts, skirts, bathing suits, oh my. To that end, I have been proactive this year. Summer will not once again sneak up on me and my winter coat, those days are over. I have been planning for summer since January {let’s be real there isn’t much going on in the winter other than hibernation}. Some of my fantastic and motivated friends have also been thinking the same way and have reached out to me to join them in a weight loss challenge. Where we all ante up some seed money and whoever loses the most, wins the pot. I have never joined such a challenge before but I think the support, and extrinsic motivation, could only prove to be helpful and dare I say it, fun.

My sweet blogger friend Melisa, of The Lil Bee, recently posted about her plans to shed the baby weight and get into shape for summer and asked her readers to join her in her mission. I want to share the same opportunity with my readers and encourage any of you to do the same. I’ll spare you the tedium of my meal and workout plans but I’ll definitely do some exercise and wellness posts as its now become a focus obsession of mine. A focus made all the more clear and concise because I leave for a week’s vacation in sunny California in 8 days. The countdown is officially on my friends, summer has come early! If you too are looking to shape up for the summer I would love it if you would join me, we can share tips and encouragement, playlists, maybe even some recipes in the comments? I’m all about commitment and follow through, and what better way to do that than to enlist the help of friends?

Are you with me?! Have you ever joined a weight loss challenge with friends and coworkers? Do you have any tips or tricks? I’d love to hear them! My plan has been to move everyday {cardio and strength training} and eliminate processed foods and eat clean, whole foods. Let me know in the comments!

    I want to lose weight too! But I have to be careful of saying that because I offend the people who are a little too confident with their bodies. But is it WRONG to want to lose a little fat I gained from sitting and eating for the past 6 months?!? I don’t think so.
